Marsia is a tourist resort at about 1,450 meters immersed in the beech forest of the Simbruini Mountains, one of the largest in Europe.

It was an active ski resort from the 1960s until the 1980s, with 3 lifts reaching 1,740 meters above sea level and 6 ski slopes.

Legambiente's Nevediversa 2025 report surveyed 265 abandoned ski facilities in Italy, including 31 in Abruzzo, among the four regions with the highest number.
